The midweek T20 clash against the Highgate Irregulars at North Middlesex CC last night turned into a somewhat one-sided affair thanks in the main to an outstanding performance from Irregulars' wicketkeeper-cum-opener Seth Connelly who, having earlier snapped up a catch and two stumpings, went on to fire a blazing innings of 75 to assure his side of victory.

It had all started pretty well for the Strollers with Spencer winning the toss and electing to bat first. Good knocks from Graeme (38) and Matt (35) and sharp running between the wickets all round meant we were able to post a very respectable (if not entirely dominating) 148-6 off our allotted overs.

But, in reply, it was Connelly who led the charge in getting the Irregulars off to a flying start at a rate of 8 per over for the first half of their innings. His opening partner Patel survived a few scares but the 100 partnership was up before he ran out of steam - first offering a up catch to Gav at mid on (who, naturally, put it down) before skying another one up to Matt in the deep who positioned himself correctly and took it well. But, by then, it was sadly too little too late and the Irregulars glided home with almost three overs to spare.
