Strollers bested by beaming Bohemians

Ferme Park played host to our latest clash with the Battersea Bohemians today. With their ranks boosted by the father and son Pittman duo, on loan from the Beamers, the oppo were able to post an imposing 277-5 from their alloted 35 overs. It had all started so promisingly for the Strollers with the Bohemians reeling in the rain at 20-3 but young Kyle Pittman changed all that with an excellent undefeated ton, supported with an explosive half century from Tom Whyte. Again our efforts were hampered by spilled catches and at tea the prospect of chasing down the total seemed a big ask.

With Harsh out second ball and the Bohemians attack pinning us down, the odds were stacked against us and even though several Strollers batsmen got in and played well — Matt (57), Graeme (47) along with some fireworks at the end from Spencer (38) and George who closed unbeaten on 38 — the win never looked likely.
