Strollers suffer defeat away to Acme

Despite the excellent weather that blessed us for our trip yesterday to play Acme CC at King's House School in Chiswick, we unfortunately slipped to only our second defeat of the season.

Having won the toss Spencer naturally opted to bat first to make the most of the sunny conditions but, alas, we were only able to post a modest 176-8 – largely propped up by a superb and unbeaten 74 from Harry later on in our innings. Unfortunately the total didn't trouble the opposition who, following tea, cruised to their target with 6 wickets remaining.
