Strollers bested by Bohos in T20
posted: July 11, 2013
In the dwindling light at North Middlesex last night, hopes of that elusive third win of the season dimmed as we managed to snap defeat from the jaws of victory in our T20 clash with the Bohemians. Having posted a decent 159-7 off our allotted overs — helped in no small part by the guest contribution from Highgate Irregular Giles Elwes (44 not out) and a heap of extras — we felt confident the total could be defended.
However a sizeable opening stand of 97 provided the Bohemians with a strong platform to reach their target. Their progress was hampered by a good spell from Giles, taking a three-for, and with 42 required from the last four overs we still felt confident we could keep the Bohos at bay, but a couple of loose overs towards the end cost us dear and with Tom Whyte asserting himself at the crease the oppo were able to get home with 10 balls to spare.
