In the opening Twenty Twenty fixture of the season at North Middlesex CC last night the Beamers, having won the toss, posted an imposing 174-8 off their allotted overs, despite some probing bowling from messrs Boughey and Fowler. In reply, the Strollers made an explosive start with our own T20 specialist, Patric Marshall, blasting his way to 35 in no time before an unfortunate run out turned the game. Wickets fell and whilst Tim made a spirited effort to keep the run rate up, hitting a valuable 30, the innings never really caught alight again and, after 20 overs, we came up some 30 runs short of the target.
