Ladder toppled by Strollers' crazy eight

As unlikely victories go, last night's win over Archway Ladder was right up there with our best. With only a paltry eight Strollers at our disposal for our evening T20 clash at Alexandra Palace we managed to pull off a nail-biter, staving off the oppo by the narrowest of margins to win by just 4 runs.
Having won the toss we batted first but suffered the early loss of George at the top of the order. Nonetheless we rallied and with valuable contributions from Abhik (44), Viral (31) and Spencer (35) we managed to post a challenging 179 from our twenty overs.
In response the Archway Ladder batters initially faltered with a flurry of early wickets led by débutant seamer Pranay who went on to collect 3-38. However, a worrysome 60 run partnership for the fifth wicket between Patel and Wajid shifted the momentum back towards the oppo. Thankfully, with the latter dismissed just before he could reach his half century we managed to stem Archway's progress and held our nerve to see out the final overs before they could reach their target, doubtless enduring a few squeaky bums along the way. A superb effort from the few who took part... who needs 11 anyway?
