A committed tourist, vociferously ineffective bowler and underachieving bat, Marshall's best moments have often occurred in the bar, including the notorious whisky challenge against Kieron Smith in The Tharp, Chippenham in 2001 which resulted in the 'Futongate incident'.

He lists his proudest moments as securing a Man-Of-The-Match award in Dublin, due to a scorer's error, and the commissioning of the new edition Strollers caps during his otherwise unsuccessful year as captain. Still chasing that elusive first half century.
