Strollers mount up the stats as milestones are met on the way to winning penultimate match

Personal milestones galore were met this afternoon as we recorded another fine win, this time over freshly found oppo, the melodically-monikered 'I Don't Like Cricket' club, a new outfit hailing from East London.
On our way to posting a mammoth 305-4 from our 35 overs firstly Abhik – on his way to a splendid 74 – notched up his thousanth Strollers run. Then Gav became only the third Stroller in history to hit 3,000 runs. However, as is so often the case, Spencer was to be the headline act – hitting an unbeaten 81 which saw him pass a staggering 6,000 run for the club ...a phenomenal feat.
The oppo, in response, gave it a mightily good go – maintaining a run rate that would befit most T20 matches. In particular their wicketkeeper/ batsman Legg timed the ball beautifully and ended up striking a superb century before Abhik finally bowled him in darkening conditions. Spencer also shone with the ball, collecting an excellent three-for as we succeeded in bowling out the oppo in the final over for 247 (which, under normal circumstances would have been an excellent score). A good win then in our penultimate game to ensure that our season ends up in credit.
