One of the most recent and most welcome additions to the Strollers' swelling ranks came in 2010 in the form of 'The Sturminator', antipodean Tim Sturm. As a newcomer to the Pimlico area and on the lookout for a local cricket team to join, Sturm simply Googled 'Pimlico cricket' and naturally came across our fine selves. Is still puzzled to this day as to how he ends up week after week in North London in order to turn out for his 'local' side but we are very glad he does so. Rightly remembered for his highly convincing Pinocchio impression (after he took one square on the shnoz when fielding in the deep at Chippenham), Sturm is also a gritty batsman with the useful ability to keep the scoreboard ticking over in all conditions, adding some much needed consistency to the Strollers' middle order. Also a fine fielder and occasional keeper it was only natural that, having deservedly clinched the Newcomer Of The Year award at the 2010 AGM, his fellow Strollers were all too keen to heap the added responsibility of the vice captaincy on his shoulders in only his second season with the club. One born every minute as they say...
